
Red Lake Falls - Glen G. St. Ives, 66, died Sunday, August 3, 1997 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Gary LeMoine officiating. Kathie Knott will be the organist, and special music will be provided by St. Joseph's Church choir. Casketbearers will be Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council #10723. The honorary casketbearers will be all of Glen's nieces and nephews. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Terrebonne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Glen Gabriel St. Ives was born January 13, 1931, the son of Eli and Edna (Pouliot) St. Ives at Terrebonne where he grew up. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Church in Terrebonne. Glen graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1948. He later attended Interstate Business College in Fargo and the Crosier College in Onamia and the Alexian in Chicago, IL. Glen worked as a bookkeeper for Thibert Chevrolet in Red Lake Falls for a time and then moved to Hartford, CT where he worked with the Connecticut General Insurance Company for 20 years. In 1988, he retired and moved to Florida where he lived until 1991 when he returned to Red Lake Falls.
Glen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served on many boards in the Red Lake County area. He served as Hillcrest Nursing Home Auxiliary president, and was named 1995 Volunteer of the Year for the State of Minnesota.
He is survived by two sisters, Charlotte Remick of Red Lake Falls and Sybil (Maurice) Derosier of Red Lake Falls; eight nieces and six nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Julie Costello; and two infant brothers.
