
Karlstad - Erlyce Spilde, 60, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 22) at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Rev. Gary Halverson officiating. Corienne Jacobson will be the organist, and the vocalist will be Shari Olson. Rodney Brown will be the reader. Casketbearers will be Ron Ruud, Gary Cook, Karl Carlson, Don Blazer, Jim Sollund and Ken Loveness. Interment will be in Eidsvold Lutheran Cemetery in Halma.
Visitation was held after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Collins Funeral Chapel in Karlstad. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
Erlyce Florence Souder was born on June 11, 1939 at Halma, the daughter of Earl and Selma (Olson) Souder. She grew up and attended school at Halma and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1957. Erlyce was baptized and confirmed at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma where she remained a life-long member and was active in church affairs.
On June 22, 1958 she was united in marriage to Arlo Spilde in Halma. The couple made their home there until 1985 when they moved to Karlstad where they have since resided. Arlyce was employed at the Karlstad School for over 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Arlo; three sons, Alan (Carol) of Thief River Falls, Todd (Dolly) of Halma and Troy of Salol; one daughter, Arla (Daryl) Meyer of Crookston; nine grandchildren; one brother, Neil Souder of Halma; two sisters, Sharon (Jack) Corey of Shelly and Janice Neugent in Arizona; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Erlyce was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arlen Aslakson. A00003B2000MR22
