
Olympia, WA - Glen W. Sowers, 88, of Olympia died Saturday, May 24, l977 at the Evergreeen Convalescent Center in Olympia.
He was born October 7, 1908 in Springfield, MO, the son of Elmer and Effie Mae (O'Dell) Sowers. As a young man, Glen enjoyed fishing and baseball and was scouted by a St. Louis baseball team. In 1940, he married Lola Johnson at Falls City, NE. He farmed for a number of years before working as a seismologist for Skelley Oil fields in Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri for eight years. In l943, he moved to Washington working as a logger and heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1970. After retirement, Glen enjoyed his family, home and garden.
He is survived by his wife, Lola of Olympia, WA; one son, David (Evelyn) of Naches, WA; two daughters, Pam (Bill) Brown of Spanaway, WA and Glenda (Dale) Bentow of Thief River Falls; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Ashley Brown.
