
Fergus Falls - Raymond Sourdif, 77, of Fergus Falls died Saturday May 17, 1997 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services for Raymond Sourdif will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Wieland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Glende-Johnson-Nelson & Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and will resume one hour prior to the services at the church in Thief River Falls.
Raymond G. Sourdif was born December 30, 1919 in Argyle, the son of Leon and Dorothy (Hansen) Sourdif. He attended school in Argyle and then farmed with his parents. He was united in marriage to Loretta Lien at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle on July 14, 1945. They farmed near Argyle until l976 when they moved to Newfolden where they continued to farm. In l986, they moved to Thief River Falls and to Fergus Falls in l993.
A former member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Raymond was currently a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. He enjoyed woodworking, making latchhook rugs, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta of Fergus Falls; four daughters, Pat (Richard) Moen of Newfolden, Susan (James) Bevel of Theodore, AL, Sandra (John) Lubitz of Thief River Falls and Joyce (Allen) Liedberg Of Sabin; four sons, Gordon (Rosalyn) of Fergus Falls, Larry (Elizabeth) of St. Hilaire, Wayne (Susan) of Ada and Donald (Heidi) of Roseau; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michelle Marie; five sisters and two brothers.
