
Red Lake Falls - Audrey Sortedahl, 90, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 at the Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. David Endriss officiating. Lana Hughes was the organist. Casketbearers were Sherman Plante, Eric Vatthauer, Don Vatthauer, Leonard Twete, Gary Purath and Ernie Vatthauer. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Audrey Lewis was born on November 27, 1909 in Minneapolis, the daughter of William and Lida (Gilbert) Lewis. She was raised and attended school in Minneapolis and worked at the telephone company there.
On November 29, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ralph B. Sortedahl in Minneapolis. The couple lived in Red Lake Falls and moved to their farm south of Red Lake Falls in 1948. In 1958, they returned to Red Lake Falls where they owned and operated the Tastee Freeze for nine years, retiring in 1967. Ralph died on December 8, 1985. Audrey has resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls since August 30, 1996.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls and enjoyed collecting antiques.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including June Delorme of Red Lake Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
