Sommers, 58Rock, WV - Paul Sommers, 58, died on Sunday, July 11, 1999 at his home in Rock, WV.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 15 at Rowland H. Baily Funeral Home in Princeton, WV. Burial was in Bowling Cemetery in Spanishburg, WV.
Paul Gilbert Sommers was born on August 26, 1940 at Warren, the son of Archie and Pearl (Tatro) Sommers. He graduated from Warren High School in 1958.
He married Aletha R. Davis in California, and the couple moved from California to West Virginia when Paul was assigned to Washington, DC for the final tour of his work with the U.S. Navy.
Paul's work in Washington culminated a 22-year career with the Navy Seabees. He then began study at Concordia College, graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Currently, he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Rock, WV.
Paul is survived by his wife; one daughter, Aletha R. Sommers; one son, Dana R. (Joetta) Sommers; seven grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Sommers of Warren; and one sister, Shirley Dillon of South Haven.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
