
Thief River Falls - Henry Sollid, 68, died Monday, November 17, 1997 at the First Care Medical Services Hospital in Fosston.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 21 at the Viking Covenant Church in Viking with Reverend Don Roach officiating. Music was provided by organist Carmen Gustafson and soloist Diane Haven. Casketbearers were Larry Gustafson, Dwight Tangquist, Lloyd Ranum, Claire Kjersten, Milo Windahl and Wallace Hanson. Burial was at the Viking Cemetery in Viking township of Marshall County. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Henry Sollid was born June 20, 1929 in Eckvoll township of Marshall County, the son of Halvor and Annie (Rue) Sollid. He was baptized in the Christian faith and attended Eckvoll Public School. As a young man Henry began working for Ole K. Ose on his farm, and the two became close friends.
On October 3, 1981 he was united in marriage to Rose Osborne in Hector. The couple owned and operated the farm in Thief River Falls where Henry lived until his death. He was also active in helping with his wife's catering business.
He enjoyed his farm, hunting, snowmobiling, trapping and spending time with his family and friends. He attended the Viking Covenant Church in Viking.
Henry is survived by his wife Rose; one sister, Rosella Keester of Grygla; one half sister, Emma Stephens of Washington; two half brothers, Joseph Sollid of Rapid City, SD and Alfred (Irene) Sollid of Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ervin Sollid; two sisters, Rosella Sollid and Hattie Sollid; and two half brothers, Harold Sollid and Thorvald Sandland.
