Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, at Silver Creek Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Jay Borchert officiating. Kathy Nelson was the organist, and the soloist was Judy Olson. Casketbearers were Dean Kaushagen, Doyle Nelson, Jarvis Torgerson, Roy Nelson, Donnie Rupprecht and Jeremy Nelson. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Myrtle Josephine Solberg was born on January 30, 1915, the daughter of Ole and Lena (Kaushagen) Solberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She grew up in Adger township of Pennington county where she attended Sunnyside rural school. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Myrtle helped raise turkeys on the family farm. She and her sister, Bernice, lived together on the family farm until 1996 when Myrtle moved into Thief River Falls.

While an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she played the organ for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and Homemakers Club. She later joined Silver Creek Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Bernice Trochmann of Thief River Falls.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Clifford Trochmann.
