Thief River Falls - Michael Snell, 48, died Monday, May 19, l997 at his home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral Services were held Friday, May 23 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids with Reverend Dennis E. Hier officiating. Interment was in the Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
Michael Vern Snell was born to Vern and Beverly Snell on December 23, l948 in Grand Rapids. He attended school in Coleraine, graduating from Greenway High School in l965. In l967, he graduated from Itasca Junior College in Grand Rapids. After brief employment at Control Data in Minneapolis, Michael attended and graduated from Eveleth Technical College as an optician. He owned and operated View Point Eyewear Shop in Thief River Falls for many years. He was united in marrriage to Marlys J. Coatsworth on July 18, 1981 in Grand Rapids. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Marlys; his parents, Vern and Beverly Snell of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Debbie Richter of Faribault and Theresa Domagall of Grand Rapids; one brother, Tim Snell of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
