M. Simonson, 68Abeline, TX - Sherman M. Simonson, 68, died Tuesday, February 17, 1998 at a Texas hospital.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 20 at Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery with Reverend Rudy Fambrough officiating. Visitation was held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Sherman M. Simonson was born in Viking. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Kathryn Edinger in 1961 in Grand Forks, ND. He moved to Abeline, TX in 1967 from East Grand Forks. Sherman was a retired truck driver after working for Pride Refinery for 13 years. He was a member of Mission Covenant Church.
Sherman is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Nugent, TX; one son, Tommy Simonson of Georgetown, TX; two daughters, Laura Cabrera of Hawley, TX and Cindy Proffitt of Hamby, TX; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jerome Simonson of Power, MT; and two sisters, Mary Ann Haugen of Ft. Benson, MT and Ailene Johnson of Grand Marsh, WI.
