Arnold Silverness, 85
New Market - Arnold Silverness, 85, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 21 at Christiania Lutheran Church in Lakeville with Reverend Charles von Fischer officiating. Arnold's grandsons, Mathew, Randy, Jay, Darren, Lee, Jimmy and Andrew, were casketbearers.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 23) at the Holt Cemetery in Holt. The White Funeral Home of Lakeville was in charge of the arrangements.
Arnold George Silverness was born on October 23, 1913 at Newfolden. He worked as a farmer and truck driver and was united in marriage to Myrtle Ness on June 29, 1940. The couple made their home in New Market.
Arnold is survived by his wife; two daughters, June Silverness of New Market and Marie (Dale) Jacobs of Lakeville; four sons, Eldon Ness of Roseau, Richard (Christine) Silverness of Elk River, Glenn (Carol) Silverness and George (Donna) Silverness, both of Lakeville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Holly, and four sisters. A00003B1999JN23
