Sophie M. Sevre, 85

Minneapolis - Sophie M. Sevre, 85, died Friday, February 27, 1998 at her home in Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary with Reverend Sheldon Torgerson officiating. Geraldine Pearson was the organist, and vocal music was provided by Wayne Hartley. Burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Sophie Marie Jensen was born on August 16, 1912 in Willow Lake township of Redwood county, the daughter of Jens and Ida (Margaret George) Jensen. She moved to Pennington county with her parents in 1919 and lived on several different farms west of Thief River Falls.

On May 11, 1943 she was married to Donald I. Sevre. After Donald completed his military service, the couple returned to Thief River Falls. They then moved to New Brighton and later to Minneapolis.

Sophie is survived by one daughter, Sandra Sevre and her husband, Darrel Nicholson; two sons, Donald (Bonnie) and Kermit (Patricia); seven grandchildren; two sisters, Alyce Sevre of St. Hilaire and Myrtle Johnson of Independence, MO; one brother, Leonard Jensen of Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Naomi; two brothers, Elmer and Alferd Jensen; and three sisters, Ann Jaranson, Emma Jensen and Sadie Bugge.
