sevre_darrellThief River Falls - Darrell Sevre, 69, died Sunday, November 26, 2000 at his home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, November 29) at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Dennis Raymond officiating. Ida Nordvall will be the organist, and the soloist will be Joel Rude. Casketbearers will be Don Scott, Tom Puppe, Ron McKercher, Delmer Rux, Bob Miller, Ed Jagol, Doug Suronen, Scott Suronen and Gary Sorvig. Military honors will be accorded by the Thief River Falls American Legion and VFW posts. Interment will be in Rux Cemetery in Sanders township of Pennington county.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Darrell Duane Sevre was born on December 26, 1930 at Thief River Falls, the son of Oscar and Rose (Rux) Sevre. He grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls. In 1952, he entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1954.

On November 25, 1961, Darrell married Verna Suronen. He worked in electronic sales and drove truck for O'Hara Fuel and Transport and North American Van Lines. He also worked fro Gregory Weiland Farms and TRF Implement. Darrell was the plant manager at Concrete, Inc. in Grand Forks, N.D. until he was injured in 1989.

Darrell was a lifetime member of the Thief River Falls VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and hobby farming.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Verna of Thief River Falls; a daughter, Julie (Darrel) Miller of Hillsboro, N.D.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Hill of Arcadia, Calif. and Bernice Fehlman of San Rafael, Calif.; a brother, Delbert Sevre of Placentia, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, Henry and Ethel Rux; and a brother, Orville. A00003B2000NV29
