Myrtle E. Seeger, 85

Austin, TX - Myrtle E. Seeger, 85, former Thief River Falls resident, died Tuesday, January 27, 1998 in Austin, TX.

Services were held on Friday, January 30 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster, CA with interment at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster.

Myrtle E. Lufkin was born March 28, 1912 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Alfred and Gunil Lufkin. She attended school in Thief River Falls and after graduating from high school, worked in Thief River Falls and Crookston.

She was united in marriage to Francis M. "Dutch" Seeger in 1950 in Sisseton, SD. She worked with her husband in a number of businesses they owned in Minnesota and California. Her husband died on July 23, 1990.

Myrtle was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster, CA until 1993 when she moved to Texas and transferred her membership to Jesus Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Austin where her son Mark is the pastor.

In addition to working with her husband in their businesses, Myrtle was a homemaker who was interested in all the activities of her family. She also enjoyed traveling and embroidery and was an avid reader.

Myrtle is survived by one daughter, Dianne Seeger (David W.) Wilkinson of Chico, CA; one son, Reverend Mark W. (Carol) Seeger of Pflugerville, TX; two grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Lufkin of Crookston; and two sisters, Harryet Larson of Thief River Falls and Esther Caillier of Boron, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one grandson, Matthew Seeger Wilkinson in 1982.
