
Hallock - Marvin Seed, 87, formerly of St. Vincent, died Monday, October 19, 1998 at the Kittson Memorial Health Care Center in Hallock.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 23 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Pembina, ND. Interment was in St. Vincent Cemetery in St. Vincent. The Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of the arrangements.
Marvin Floyd Seed was born in St. Vincent on April 7, 1911, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Ash) Seed. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in St. Vincent. Marvin served in the U.S. Army prior to and throughout World War II, returning home in 1945.
On November 14, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Margaret Leech in Rockford, IL. The couple returned to St. Vincent where they farmed until retirement. After he retired, Marvin worked at American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton, ND for eight years. He continued to work with his brother and family on their farm near St. Vincent.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Carl (Peggy) Seed of Thief River Falls and Larry (Tamise) Seed of Kalispell, MT; one daughter, Virginia Nulle of Moorhead; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilbert (Mary) Seed of St. Vincent; and two sisters, Eulalia Curtis of Canton, IL and Mary Stacey of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Nelson; and two sisters, Marie Krumholz and Verna McGlashan.
