Alice Seaverson, 69

Thief River Falls - Alice Seaverson, 69, died on Thursday, November 6, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 11 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Music was provided by organist Ida Nordvall and soloist Tonya Bares. Casket-bearers were Jerome Larson, Dave Schneider, John Seaverson and Gary Langheid. Burial was at Landstad Cemetery in Sanders township of Pennington County. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Theodora Jensen was born on November 26, 1927 to Gustav and Marie (Pederson) Jensen in Edinburg, ND. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Edinburg. She attended school at Tieber Township District 92 and later attended high school at the Walsh County Agricultural School at Park River, ND. She moved with her family to the Viking area where they farmed. Alice worked as a licensed nursing assistant in Grafton, ND and Thief River Falls.

On December 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Burnie Seaverson at Webster, SD. The couple moved to Thief River Falls where they raised their family. Alice worked at the Pennington Hotel as a housekeeper and later at Arctic Enterprises as a welder. The couple retired and spent the winters traveling to various southern states.

Alice enjoyed going to auction sales, antiques, collecting, listening to country music, flowers, gardening, traveling, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the WELCA group, the VFW Auxiliary and Sons of Norway. She also spent time as a Brownie leader.

Alice is survived by her husband Burnie of Thief River Falls; four children, Bruce (LaVonne) Seaverson of Middle River, Bonnie Toulouse of Minneapolis, Valerie Amundgaard and her fiance Chet Engelman of Thief River Falls, and Warren Seaverson and his special friend Carol Vondal of Thief River Falls; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille (Olger) Langheid of Grand Forks, ND; and one brother, Elroy Jensen of Viking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Roger; and one grandson Darren Seaverson.
