Victoria Sauve, 96

Red Lake Falls - Victoria Sauve, 96, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Marjorie Schafer was the organist with the St. Joseph's Church Choir providing special music. Casketbearers were Jeff Sauve, Mike Sauve, Randy Sauve, Allan Boucher, Dennis Wendt and Ken Feldman. Burial was held at the St. Anthony Cemetery in Terrebonne. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Victoria Marie Sauve was born October 17, 1900 in Crookston the daughter of Archille and Dilma (Genereux) Gagne. She was married to Theophile Sauve on January 7, l919 at Terrebonne. The couple lived on a farm near Terrebonne where Victoria was a homemaker. Theophile passed away on October 26, l966. That year, Victoria moved to Red Lake Falls. In l988, she moved to Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the guild, St. Ann's Society and the Catholic Foresters.

Victoria is survived by seven children, Isabelle (Del) Boucher of Coon Rapids; Paul (LaVerne) of Green Valley, AZ; Theresa (Ralph) Lussier of Milwaukee; WI, Doris Mathews of Crown Point, IN; Erwin (Donna) of Burnsville; Maurice (Rosella) of St. Cloud; Pauline Martinek of Antioch, IL and Carol (Joe) Guzek of South St. Paul; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Victoria was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Sauve; two daughters, Leona Nelson and infant daughter Marie; grandson Steve Sauve; three brothers, Eugene, Wilfred and Joe Gagne; and one sister, Rose Payment.
