Rendahl Sannes, 88

Wyoming - Funeral services were held July 25, 1998 at the Jesse Lake Lutheran Church near Big Fork for Rendahl E. Sannes. Mr. Sannes died July 19 at the age of 88. He was the last surviving family member of early Roseau county pioneers who first settled at Badger and later moved to the Strathcona area. Rendahl's ashes were scattered on the family plot at Silverton Cemetery with members of the family participating in the service.

Rendahl E. Sannes was born on December 10, 1909 in Deer township of Roseau county, the son of John and Clara Sannes. He attended school and grew up in the Strathcona area. While farming in the Mud Lake area in Marshall county, he also worked in the forest areas of Ontario, Canada and Montana.

On March 8, 1943, Rendahl was united in marriage to Ruby E. Lindgren, and the couple began working in Silverton township of Pennington county. During the 1940's they moved to the Jesse Lake/Talmoon area where they continued to farm, and Jesse began working in the iron mines. Ruby died in 1988.

An avid fisherman, Rendahl spent his retirement years in the Talmoon/Deer River area, recently moving to Wyoming, MN.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen (Michael) Scott; two nephews; two nieces; and other relatives.

Rendahl was preceded in death by his wife; infant daughter, Darlene; his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
