
Brooks - Greg Sandeen, 37, died Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at his home in Brooks.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 16 at 2 p.m. at Oak Park Lutheran Church near Oklee with Reverend Steven Sparley officiating. Larissa Chervestad was the organist. Casketbearers were John Brinkman, Jesse Brinkman, Harold Sandeen, Jeff Stenberg, Don Berry and Kevin Vettleson. Burial was in Oak Park Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home of Oklee was in charge of the arrangements.
Gregory Sandeen was born on May 6, 1961 at Fosston, the son of Milo and Eleanor (Brinkman) Sandeen. He was raised in the Oklee area and attended school there, graduating from Oklee High School in 1979. He was baptized at Asphult Lutheran Church in Hill River township of Polk county and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee.
On July 31, 1993 he was united in marriage to Rachael Mandt at Oak Park Lutheran Church near Oklee. The couple lived in Brooks where Greg was self-employed as a carpenter.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving.
Greg is survived by his wife, Rachael Sandeen of Brooks; one daughter, Brianna, at home; his father, Milo (Betty) Sandeen of Brooks; his mother, Eleanor (Dick) Balko of Redwood Falls; one brother, Darrell Sandeen of Oklee; one sister, Angie Sandeen of Waseca; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death his grandparents, Irvin and Gina Brinkman and Emil and Mary Sandeen; two uncles and one infant brother, Dale Sandeen.
