Fosston - Melford San, 83, died Monday, May 19, 1997 at Midway Care Center in Fosston.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 23 at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge with Pastor Michael Zaske officiating. Grace Hammer was the organist and soloist. Casketbearers were Stanley Erickson, Palmer Lovly, Robert Mandrud, Lloyd Wiseth, Leonard Olson, Carl Eng and Orlin Hanson. Burial was in Goodridge Cemetery. Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Melord San was born May 5, 1914 in Goodridge Township, Pennington County the son of Olaus and Eva (Loarson) San. He grew up in the Goodridge and Highlanding areas and lived with his brother, Leonard, in Goodridge Township. Following Leonard's death in l985, Melford moved to Goodridge. In l991, he moved to Valley Home in Thief River Falls. In l992, he moved to Fosston where he resided at Baumans Board and Care until moving to Midway Care Center in l993.
Melford is survived by three brothers, Edwin of Hibbing, Kermit of Lakeville and Vernon (Marian) of Waterville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Leona Cain, Sadie Geving and Olga Kereluk; and two brothers, Leonard and Paul.
