Steven Ryan, 40

Fosston - Steven M. Ryan, 40, died Thursday, April 8, 1999 after suffering a stroke at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13 at Poplar Lake Lutheran Church, rural Fosston, with Pastor Robert Dennis officiating. Betty Johnson was the organist, and vocal music was provided by Vivian Kezar, Tammy Milbrath, Kim Derman and Shana Weber. The Carlin-Hoialman Funeral Home of Fosston was in charge of the arrangements.

Steven Michael Ryan was born on January 9, 1959 at Fosston, the son of Norris and Flayvia (Linde) Ryan. He graduated from Fosston High School in 1977 and attended drafting school at Thief River Falls and St. Cloud.

On April 26, 1980 he was united in marriage to LeAnn C. Kezar at Viking. The couple lived in Little Falls and moved to the home farm near Fosston in 1988 where they took care of his parents. Steve was self-employed in the carpentry business.

Survivors include his wife, LeeAnn; two daughters and one son, Christi, Sara and Andrew Ryan, all at home; five sisters, Myrna Folstrom (special friend Charles Goldsmith) of Lengby, Bonnie (Jerome) Doll of Fosston, Kathryn Peterson of Thief River Falls, Ramona (LeRoy) Jonas of Avon and Roxanne (John) Lawless of St. Cloud; two brothers, Dennis Ryan (special friend Joni Hendricks) of St. Cloud and Neal (Cindy) Ryan of Avon; one sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Curtis Ryan. A00003B1999AR14
