
Thief River Falls - Gina Rux, 91, died Sunday, June 6, 1999 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Marcia Sylvester officiating. Joyce Halbasch will be the organist, and vocal music will be provided by Rodney Myhrum. Casketbearers will be Orville Ness, LeRoy "Bud" Olson, Vern Reirson, Delmer Rux, Bob Staskividge and LeRoy Udstrand. Burial will be in Rux Cemetery in Sanders township of Pennington county.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, June 10 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Gina Turina Arnevik was born on July 9, 1907 at Holt, the daughter of Andrew and Olga (Nelson) Arnevik. She grew up in Holt.
On April 11, 1925 she was united in marriage to Ludvig Larson at Holt where the couple farmed and made their home. They had four children, Reuben, Clifford, Gilma and Marien.
On May 21, 1939 she married Elmer Rux. They made their home in Thief River Falls and had two children, Durlyn and Bette. In 1975, the couple moved to St. Hilaire. Elmer died in 1980, and Gina moved back to Thief River Falls in 1985. She entered Valley Home in October of 1998, and moved to the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in February of 1999.
She was a Gold Star mother.
Gina is survived by one daughter, Marien (Rodney) Larson-Myhrum of Fosston; one son, Durlyn (Linda) Rux of Thief River Falls; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ludwig and Elmer; three children, Rueben, Gilma and Bette; Bette's husband, Loring Lord; three sisters, Anna, Alma and Nellie; and two brothers, John and Halvor. A00003B1999JN09
