Thief River Falls - Duane Rux, 64, died Thursday, August 27, 1998 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 31 at the Green Funeral Chapel in Thief River Falls with Reverend Tim Bauer officiating. Diane Johnson was the organist. Vocal music was provided by Don Wahlbeck. Casketbearers were Rick Anderson, Jeremy Johnson, Charles Meyers, Kevin Rux, Trenton Rux and Craig Stanina. Burial was in the Holt Cemetery at Holt.
Duane Willis Rux was born on May 7, 1943 in Excel township of Marshall county, the son of W.E. and Inga (Garfve) Rux. He was baptized as an infant and received his education at Steiner Rural School in Marshall county.
He moved to St. Paul where he worked for several years at the Swift Packing plant and then at Federal Cartridge in Mounds View. After returning to Thief River Falls in 1971, Duane was employed by Hillman Construction Co. of Warren and Hydra-Mac of Thief River Falls. Due to health reasons, he retired in 1996 from Marvin Windows in Warroad.
He enjoyed country and old time music, hunting and especially enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Duane is survived by two sisters, Ardelle Stanina of Osseo and Joyce (David) Dale of Richfield; three brothers, Gail (Lillian) Rux of Thief River Falls, Alden Rux of Coon Rapids, and Glen (June) Rux of Vancouver, WA; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
