
Hibbing - Isabell Rude, 96, died Sunday, January 24, 1999 at Leisure Hills Health Center.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, January 27) at 2 p.m. at Malvik Lutheran Church in Guthrie. Casketbearers will be Todd Mortensen, Dan Rude, Mike West, Rod Haenke, Dean Thiem, Bob Rude and Jim Rude. Burial will be in Zion Memorial Cemetery in Hart Lake township.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Range Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
Isabell Banfill was born July 8 1902 in Shetek, WI, the daughter of George and Bertha Banfill. As a young child she moved to Bowman, ND where she grew up and attended school.
On December 18, 1920 she was united in marriage to Oscar Rude in Minneapolis. The couple lived in Minneapolis until 1929 when they moved to Newfolden where they farmed. In 1942, they moved to Guthrie where they lived and farmed for 30 years before moving to Kelly Lake in 1972. After Oscar's death in 1980, Isabell moved into the Lee Center where she was a volunteer for the AEOA. In 1995 she moved to the Leisure Hills Health Care Center.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting.
Isabell is survived by one daughter, Arlene (Vern) Mortensen of Pengilly; one son, Richard (Astrid) Rude of Bemidji; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; parents; one son, Marvin in 1973; one grandson, Michael Rude; five sisters; four brothers; and one daughter-in-law, Jean Rude.
