Calmer Rud, 92
Funeral Services were held on Monday, August 30, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist, with Rev. Curtis Matz officiating. Casket bearers included John Lofstrom, Wally Rud, Kevin Roppe, Donald Wicklund, Russell Wicklund and Raymond Benke.Interment was held at Bethesda Cemetery in Strandquist. İİİCalmer Rud was born on July 9, 1912 in Strathcona, to Christ and Janna (Ruud) Rud.He was baptized in Strathcona and confirmed in Cedarberg, Wis. He attended country school.At a young age he went to work in the woods logging. He was united in marriage to Gladys Johnson on October 19, 1938 in Strandquist.Calmer did carpentry work for a living. He also raised sheep and farmed. İİİCalmer enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.He also liked woodworking, making Ferris wheels and other items.He played the harmonica, enjoyed dancing, and loved eating chocolate candy bars. İİİCalmer is survived by five children: Ronnie Rud of Seattle, Wash., Weslie (Eunice) Rud of Strandquist, Duane (Diane) Rud of Thief River Falls, Marlene Wikstrom of Minneapolis and Judy Lubarski of Hopkins;26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Rud of Moorhead. İİİCalmer was preceded in death by his wife Gladys on February 24, 1997; his parents; three grandchildren; three brothers: Carl, Andrew, and Engvald; and three sisters: Inga Roppe, Jenny Larson and Alma Wicklund.İİİA00003B2004SP01 |
