Gail Rowley, 84

Lebanon, MO - Gail Rowley, 84, died Saturday, September 11, 1999 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, MO with Rev. John Myers officiating. Jeanette Klemin was the organist, and Sandy Myers was the soloist. Casketbearers were Nolan Camp, Jack Pendergrass, Bob Quinby, Charles Lashley, Tim Peters and Warren Sauerbrei. Interment was in Mount Rose Memorial Park with the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon in charge of the arrangements.

Gail Wells Rowley was born on June 7, 1915 in Edgeley, ND, the son of Clare A. and Lura M. (Washburn) Rowley. When he was 12 years old, the family moved to Minnesota where he graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston. For the next few years, he worked on farms.

On April 19, 1941 Gail was united in marriage to Grace Sogn. The couple made their home in Minnesota where he was a snowmobile painter at Arctic Cat and Polaris for 20 years before retiring. After living in New Orleans, LA for a few years, Gail, Grace and their son, Weldon, moved to the Winchester Gap area of Dallas County, MO in January of 1992.

Raised in the Methodist faith, Gail become a member of the Lutheran church as an adult. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, MO.

He enjoyed riding snowmobiles, traveling, reading, music and especially singing.

Gail is survived by one son, Weldon Rowley of Tunas, MO; two daughters, Kathryn "Kay" (Arthur "Art") Olson of Thief River Falls and Ramona Rowley of Brooklyn Park; one grandson; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Grace on December 27, 1998; two brothers, Ronald Rowley and Clare A. Rowley Jr.; two sisters, Mary Rowley and Dorothy Brower; one grandson; and one son-in-law, Robert Nelson. A00003B1999SP22
