
Karlstad - Erlyce Ronnander, 80, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma with Pastor Timothy Lundeen officiating. Kirstin Olson was the organist, and Elspeth Ronnander was the pianist. Vocal music was provided by Susan Ronnander. Casketbearers were Erlyce's grandsons, Chad Ronnander, Tim Ronnander, Todd Ronnander, Leif Ronnander, Reid Ronnander, Ken Breeggeman and Jim Huebel. Interment was in Eidsvold Cemetery in Halma. The Collins Funeral Home of Karstad was in charge of the arrangements.
Erlyce Joan Swanson was born on December 21, 1917 in Teien township near Kennedy, the daughter of John and Delia (Rydberg) Swanson. She attended school and grew up in the Teien and Red River communities and was baptized and confirmed at the Red River Lutheran Church.
On June 18, 1942, Erlyce was united in marriage to Donald Ronnander at Hallock. The couple farmed near Kennedy until 1956 when they moved to their home in Jupiter township near Halma. Erlyce was an active member of the Maria Lutheran Church until 1960 when the couple moved to Minneapolis. There she was employed by the Augustana Home for 15 years.
In 1976, Erlyce and Donald returned to their home near Halma, and Erlyce became a member of the Eidsvold Lutheran Church of Halma. She was also active in the Halma Senior Citizens group. Donald died on October 22, 1997. Since December of 1996 Erlyce has been a resident of the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
She is survived by three sons, Duane (Irene) of Colfax, WI, Curtis (Doris) of Woodville, WI and Bryce (Susan) of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Muriel (Dean) Younggren of Hallock; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Eldred and Maynard; and one sister in infancy.
