Goodridge - Henford Roisland, 79, died Friday, October 13 2000 at his home in rural Goodridge.
Funeral services
were held on Monday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m. 
at Ekelund Lutheran
Church, rural Goodridge, with Jennifer Rome officiating. Tanya
Verbout was the organist, and Lisa Verbout was the soloist.
Casketbearers were Steve Austin, Gerald Bagne, Galen Englund, Leslie
Iverson, Roger Kriel and Mark Larson. Interment was in Ekelund
Cemetery in Highlanding township of Pennington county. Green Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Henford Sherman Roisland was born on April 10, 1921 in Pennington county, the son of Knute and Miranda (Svare) Roisland. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school. In the 1940's, he worked in the potato fields near Grand Forks. He began farming in 1950 and also worked part-time on the iron range for Hanna Mining.
On April 8, 1944, he married Corrine Rindahl, and they made their home in Star township. The couple had five daughters.
On August 16, 1969, Henford was united in marriage to Shirley Brooks in Goodridge. He was employed on the assembly line at Arctic Cat and also drove truck for Peterson Biddick in Thief River Falls.
He enjoyed mechanics and helping farmers repair their machinery and old time music and dancing.
Henford is survived by his wife; four daughters, Diane (Mark) Larson of Middle River , Suzann Sande of Devils Lake, N.D., Gail (Steve) Austin of Waleska, Ga. and Lori (Gerald) Bagne of Ramsey; five grandchildren; a sister, Amanda (Tarel) Kveste of Algonquin, Ill.; and a brother, Ernest (Adeline) of Grand Forks, N.D.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Candyce; his parents; two sisters, Thora and Harriet Tharp; and a son-in-law, Mike Sande.
