
Thief River Falls - Charles Rodekuhr, 81, died on Friday, July 25, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Bob LaPlante officiating. Carol Amundson was the organist. Shelly Burkel was the cantor. Casketbearers were Vern Quam, Ellsworth Jorgenson, Larry Sedivy, Scott Sedivy, Bob Christensen, and Kevin Sedivy. Burial was at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Charles William Rodekuhr was born on August 11, 1915 at Deer Creek the son of William and Edith (Burnett) Rodekuhr. He was baptized at Deer Creek in the Christian faith and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Charles attended school in Deer Creek graduating in 1932. He attended Dakota Business College in Fargo. He worked at Peterson-Biddick in Wadena and Crookston before moving to Thief River Falls in 1941 where he worked for Peterson-Biddick as an accountant. Charles entered the service during World War II and served in the Normandy Invasion.
He was united in marriage to Cyrilla Reller on August 16, 1941 at Crookston. Following his discharge from the military, he returned to Thief River Falls and continued his employment with Peterson-Biddick. In l952, he began working for Pennington County as County Auditor until retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles, American Legion where he was a past commander, Thief River Falls Lions Club where he served as president, and a former VFW Member.
Charles is survived by his wife, Cyrilla; daughter Judith Rodekuhr of Minnetonka; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael in 1982, and brother, Vern.
