Sarah Robinson, 96

Fosston - Sarah Robinson, 96, died Saturday, May 29, 1999 at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 2) at First English Lutheran Church in Fosston with Reverend Dean Bell officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Sarah Ann Sanders was born on November 19, 1902 in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Thomas and Lilly (Chard) Sanders. When she was a young girl, Sarah moved with her family to Thief River Falls where she attended school. After high school graduation, she attended normal training and taught at a rural school near Thief River Falls for many years.

On May 31, 1924, Sarah was united in marriage to Myron O. Robinson. The couple moved to Mahnomen in 1926 and worked for Shimerhorn Farms for several years. In 1936, they moved to rural Fosston, farming in Columbia township until moving into Fosston in 1971. Myron died in 1989. Sarah lived in Town Square apartments in Fosston until January of this year when she became a resident of First Care Nursing Home.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

Sarah is survived by one daughter, Marian (William) Rekow of Elk Grove, CA; one son, Keith Robertson of Seahurst, WA; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Sanburg of Edina; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; one son, Myron LuVerne Robinson ; and her parents. A00003B1999JN02
