Morris Roadfeldt, 73

Thief River Falls - Morris Roadfeldt, 73, died Monday, December 7, 1998 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 11 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and Marie Hvidsten performed a flute solo. Jeff Liden was the vocal soloist. Casketbearers were Iver Torfin, Dick Sjoberg, Sam Grafstrom, Steve Bergland, Al Sollom, Jim Breiland and Virgil Berger.

Honorary casketbearers were Gene and Maida Sjoberg, Fran Stromberg, Milton and Della Burstad, Curtis and Helen Brandt, Phyllis Sollom, Glenn and Joan Peterson, Dick and Myrna Olson, Duane McFarland and Arlene Brown, Holly Sjoberg, Phil and Angie Andreen, Lola Grafstrom, Mary Bergland and Bernie Berger and all employees of Sjoberg's, relatives and friends. Burial was in Hope Cemetery in Roseau. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Morris Raymond Roadfeldt was born on December 11, 1924 on a farm near Salol, the son of John and Alma (Nilson) Roadfeldt. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Salol. He attended grade school in Salol for eight years and graduated from Roseau High School in 1944. While in high school, Morris played basketball, softball and participated in track and three act plays.

On June 21, 1952 he was united in marriage to Betty Bergland in Roseau. The couple moved to Thief River Falls. From October of 1951 until July of 1959 Morris was employed by Montgomery Ward as a furniture salesman. He then went to work for Sjoberg's Appliance & TV where he was employed for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

Morris was active in the local Bowling Association, Curling Association, DFL party, and AARP. He served on the boards of the Heritage Community Center and Golden Kiwanis and was on the church council at Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Sportman's Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Morris is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Debra (Stan) Ehrenstrom of Warroad; one son, Jeff (Jane) Roadfeldt of Warroad; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Eunice Mundt of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, George Roadfeldt of Minneapolis and Elmer (Olive) Roadfeldt of Lamberton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Roger in 1991; his parents; and four brothers, Harold, Clarence, Edgar and Robert.
