Rose Rinkenberger, 102

Fosston - Rose Rinkenberger, 102, died Thursday, February 10, at First Care Hospital in Fosston.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15 at Fosston Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Swenson officiating. Burial was in Bransvold Cemetery, rural Fosston. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston was in charge of the arrangements.

Rose Wenger was born on August 20, 1897 in Fairbury, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Barbara (Burkhardt) Wenger. Prior to marrying, Rose did housekeeping and was a cook at a restaurant.

On December 24, 1919 she was united in marriage to William Rinkenberger. They lived in many places, including Stephen, Hazel and Red Lake Falls before settling in Fosston in 1941 where they resided and raised their family on the family farm. William died on April 4, 1971.

Rose enjoyed working outside in the barn, hay field and raising chickens. She always had a large garden and lots of flowers.

She was a member of Fosston Baptist Church.

Rose is survived by four sons, Harvey (Doris) Rinkenberger, Archie (Thelma) Rinkenberger, Roger (Janis) Rinkenberger, and Darrel (Norma) Rinkenberger, all of Fosston; five daughters, Beulah Mae (Andie) Anderson of Bemidji, Lorraine (Richard) Jensen of Alexandria, and Pearl Birkeland, Doris Hove and Eleanor (Curtis) Paulson, all of Fosston; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers and sisters, and two sons-in-law, Raymond Hove and Kenneth Birkeland.
