Carol Rawerts, 63

Thief River Falls - Carol Rawerts, 63, died Sunday, August 22, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 27 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Don Kirchner officiating. Elaine Idso will be the organist, and vocal music will be provided by Delores Kading. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gervais township of Red Lake county.

Visitation will be held at Green Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, August 26.

Carol Ann Gruenhagen was born on December 10, 1935 in St. Paul, the daughter of Ferd and Elaine (Meissner) Gruenhagen. She was baptized in 1936 and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Carol attended Harding High School and Concordia College in St. Paul, earning a degree in elementary education. She taught school in Aurora, IL and St. Paul.

On June 25, 1977 she was united in marriage to Daniel Rawerts at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in St. Paul, and the couple made their home in Thief River Falls where she was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Ruth/Rachel Circle and LWML and enjoyed making crafts and gifts.

Carol is survived by her husband, Dan; four sisters, Norma (Jerry) Gallati of Cushing, Corinne (Weldon) Wilson of St. Cloud, Emily (Gerald) Boleen of White Bear Lake and Gloria (Everett) Acker of Newport; two brothers, Lowell (Elois) Gruenhagen of Seattle, WA and Warren (Judy) Gruenhagen of Stillwater; her father-in-law, Voy Rawerts of Red Lake Falls; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.
