Lynnwood, WA - Reverend Ernest J. Raaum, 89, passed away on May 6, l997 in Lynnwood,WA. He served as pastor at the Lutheran Free Church parish at Newfolden from 1947 to 1952.
Ernest Raaum was born on May 13, l907 the son of Rev. and Mrs. O.I. Raaum. In the l920's, he spent part of his youth in Holt where his father served several rural congregations. Rev. Raaum was a graduate of Augsburg College and Augsburg Seminary in Minneapolis. He served his first parish in Hagensborg, BC, Canada. He also served in Portland, OR; Kirkland, WA; LaMoure, ND; and Newman Grove, NE.
E.J. Rauum was united in marriage to Norma Johansen in l936. His wife survives him at 1131 Crawford Road, Lynnwood, WA. Also surviving are two daughters, Anne Rasmussen and Elizabeth Kurtenbach, both of Nebraska and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Raaum, who was killed in Vietnam.
