Laurie "Larry" Raad, 54

Bagley - Laurie "Larry" Raad, 54, died Friday, January 8, 1999 at Meritcare Hospital in Bagley.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, January 13) at 3 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley with Reverend Mark Wold officiating. Visitation was held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the funeral chapel. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services today. Interment will be in the Bagley City Cemetery.

Laurie Raad was born on March 5, 1944 in Detroit Lakes, the son of Orville and Doris (Hill) Raad. He attended Waubun School until 1958 when he moved with his family to a farm north of Shevlin. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1962. Larry lived in Kansas from April of 1962 until 1969 when he returned to the farm near Shevlin. He worked at Arctic Cat in Clearbrook from 1969 until 1972. In 1973 he moved to Colorado. He returned to Bagley in 1975.

He married Barbara Pederson of Bagley in November of 1977. The couple made their home in Bagley where Larry worked with a trucking and logging operation and the couple owned and operated the Bagley Cleaners from 1989 until 1996. Larry retired in 1996 and continued to do odd jobs to keep himself busy.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Bagley; four sons, Bryan (Gail) of Bagley, Russell (Shari) of Joliet, IL, Stacy (Carrie) of Richfield, WI, and Kevin (Erica) of Japlin, MO; two grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Peterson of Georgia, Sheila Raad of Boise, ID, and Carla Blegen of Champlin; and one brother, Brian of Conyers, GA.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Caroline; and his grandparents.
