River Falls - Elizabeth Pulczinski, 87, died Wednesday, April 26,
2000 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Jeannie Novacek was the organist, and Peggy Swart was the cantor. Casketbearers were Elizabeth Jensen, Kenneth Pulczinski, Debra Pulczinski, Brian Pulczinski, Michael Pulczinski and Chad Pulczinski. Honorary casketbearers were members of St. Ann's Guild. Burial was in Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Greenbush with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.
Elizabeth Gerszewski was born on June 29, 1912 in Ardoch, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Veronica (Rogalla) Gerszewski. She was baptized, received her first communion and was confirmed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, N.D. She attended a country school in the Ardoch area.
On October 24, 1933, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Joseph Pulczinski at St. Stanislaus Church in Warsaw. The couple lived and farmed near Greenbush and moved into Greenbush following their retirement. Elizabeth was employed for a short time at the Greenbush Hospital. Joseph died in 1990. Elizabeth moved to Thief River Falls in July of 1996.
She was a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and St. Ann's Guild at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush. Currently, Elizabeth was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, playing cards and table games, and sharing her hospitality with friends and family.
Elizabeth is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Jensen of Thief River Falls; three sons, Daniel (LaVonne) Pulczinski of West Fargo, N.D., Edward (Jeanette) Pulczinski of Greenbush and Ernest (Patti) Pulczinski of Horicon, Wisc.; one daughter-in-law, Karen Pulczinski of Muskego, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; one son, Walter; and nine brothers and sisters. A00003B2000MY03
