Eldred - Justina "Tyke" Porter, 34, died Thursday, June 18, 1998 at her mother's home in Euclid after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston. Interment was in the Prairie View Cemetery at Euclid.
Justina Marie "Tyke" Porter was born on March 23, 1964 in Crookston, the daughter of Dennis and Carol (Magsam) Porter. She was baptized and confirmed at the Euclid Presbyterian Church, attended school in Crookston and was a 1982 graduate of Central High School. For 13 years Tyke was employed in the housekeeping department of Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston. She enjoyed the job and people she was forced to leave as her illness progressed.
Survivors include her fiance, Richard "Rick" Hoffman and his daughter, Danielle, of Eldred; her mother, Carol Porter of Euclid; three brothers, Russell, Bruce and Merle Porter, all of Euclid; one sister, Martha (Mark) Gust of Euclid; four nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Tyke was preceded in death by her father, Dennis; and her grandparents.
