Leonard Plante, 65

Oklee - Leonard Plante, 65, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Joe Richards officiating. Charity Wicks was the organist, and special music was provided by Erin Melby. All of Leonard's brothers and his sister were the casketbearers. Burial was held in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Leonard Joseph Plante was born on July 8, 1932 at Oklee, the son of Samuel and Mabel (Boucher) Plante. He was raised and attended school in Oklee. Leonard worked in construction and was an electrician's assistant. Leonard lived in Oklee until April of 1989 when he entered McIntosh Manor Nursing Home where he has since resided.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee.

Leonard is survived by one sister, Gladys Plante of Oklee; and six brothers, Vern, Lawrence and Clarence, all of Oklee, Pete of Warroad, and Dewey and Stephen of South Milwaukee, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother and his grandparents.
