Gully - Barbara Pladsen, 89, died Sunday, October 24, 1999 at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Rev. Gary LaMoine presiding. Casketbearers will be David Weber, John Weber, Ryan Lund, Dale Agnes, Kevin Agnes, Brian Agnes and Jerry Agnes. Honorary casketbearers will be all of Barbara's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Trail.

Barbara Ann Schneider was born on October 23, 1910 in Eden township of Polk county near Gully, the daughter of John and Eva (Bries) Schneider. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Charles Catholic Church of Trail and attended school in Eden township.

On October 31, 1936, Barbara was united in marriage to Leonard Pladsen in Fosston. The couple resided in Gully and later moved to a farm in Gully township where she resided until January of this year when she entered First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Barbara was active in the St. Charles Ladies Aid and choir until becoming a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, farming with her husband, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by three daughters, Marian (Francis) Weber and Geraldine (Vincent) Agnes, both of Gully, and Sharon (Lyle) Lund of Trail; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Steile of Minneapolis and Elizabeth Neid of St. Paul; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; special friend, Esther Thorrson of Fosston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on June 20, 1989; her parents; five grandchildren; Patrick, Peter and Paul Weber, Karen Bushelle and James Agnes; two brothers, Stanley and Johnny; and four sisters, Annie Schmidt, Susan Carlson, Margaret Anderson and Marie Pladsen. A00003B1999OT27
