Joseph Pinsonneault, 85

Red Lake Falls - Joseph Pinsonneault, 85, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Polly Beyer was the organist. Special music was provided by soloist Darla Huot and St. Joseph's Church Choir. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Anthony Pinsonneault was born May 21, 1912 in Red Lake Falls, the son of Michel and Marguerite (Perreault) Pinsonneault. He was raised there, attending St. Joseph's grade school and graduating from Lafayette High School. Joe did carpentry work in the area and during war years, worked at the Tow Mill in Red Lake Falls.

On March 12, 1945 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Longtin at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. Over the years, he worked at a hardware store, for the school district and then, at Wilcox Plumbing and Heating until his retirement.

In 1955 Joe built a cabin on Maple Lake where he and his family enjoyed spending time. He also enjoyed visiting and meeting new people, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the French Club and was a member of the Red Lake Falls Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Joe is survived by two sons, James (Candy) Pinsonneault of Bemidji and Donald (Kathy) Pinsonneault of Minneapolis; two daughters, Janet (Don) Nitti of Winona and Betty (Tom) Houghtaling of Terrebonne; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine on March 19, 1985; his parents; three brothers, Albert "Bert" Pinsonneault, Napoleon "Nap" Pinsonneault and infant Leonard Pinsonneault; and three sisters, Lucille Johnson, Anne Proulx and Marie Jorgenson.
