Karlstad - Winnifred Peterson, 90, died Saturday, March 13, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 15 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Reverend Gary Hempel officiating. Bev Folland was the organist, and special music was provided by Winnifred's grandchildren. Interment was in Bowesmont Cemetery in Bowesmont, ND. The Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad was in charge of the arrangements.
Winnifred Mae Parker was born on March 13, 1909 in Bowesmont, ND, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Cetchpole) Parker. She grew up and attended school in Bowesmont.
In February of 1928 she was united in marriage to Oscar Peterson, and the couple lived in the Bowesmont area until 1956 when they moved to Cavalier, ND. Oscar died in March of 1962, and Winnifred later moved to Grafton, ND. In 1985 she moved to Oakwood Homes in Karlstad where she has since resided.
Winnifred is survived by two sons, Wilmer (Shirley) of Big Lake and Marvin (Margaret) of Karlstad; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Edith (Mrs. Robert) VanCamp of Drayton, ND and Eleanor (Mrs. Duncan) McDonald of Cavalier, ND; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one infant daughter; two sons, Harold and Duane; and three brothers, Russell, Wesley and Alfred. A00003B1999MR17
