
Regina, Saskatchewan - Rev. James Peterson, 68, died Wednesday, September 8, 1999.
Services were held on Saturday, September 11 at 11 a.m. at Christ at Trinity Lutheran Church in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Regina Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
James Herbert Peterson was born on June 11, 1931 at Alexandria. He completed his high school education in Thief River Falls, received a bachelor of science degree from Concordia College in Moorhead and a master of divinity degree from Northwestern Lutheran Seminary in St. Paul. James had also done some graduate work in education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
For several years he was employed in the field of education, teaching in public schools, a Lutheran parochial school and a private boys' boarding school. Upon graduation from the seminary in 1965 he was called to the Bergland-Rainy River parish in northwestern Ontario. From 1969 until 1978, he served the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, and the last parish he served was St. Timothy in Regina, Saskatchewan from 1978 to 1994.
Rev. Peterson is survived his wife, Carolyn "Cari;" one son, Mitchell (Teresa); two sisters, Lillian Thorstad and his twin, June (Lester) Steiger; his mother-in-law, Mabel Binde; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A00003B1999SP15
