Duane Peterson, 57

Duluth - Duane "Pete" Peterson, 57, died Saturday, March 20, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Duluth with Reverend David Dusek officiating. The Bell Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Duane Peterson was born in the Thief River Falls area, the son of Arthur and Pearl Peterson. He attended Lincoln Park Middle School and Duluth Denfeld. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. Duane was a boilermaker and welder for Fraiser Shipyards and the State of Minnesota Highway Department, retiring in the mid-1970's due to disabilities.

He enjoyed fishing in the Island Lake and Fish Lake areas and hunting in the Floodwood area.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammie Tanskanen of Duluth; one son, Scott of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; and numerous relatives in the Thief River Falls area.
