Beatrice Peterson, 83

Oklee - Beatrice Peterson, 83, died Thursday, February 10, 2000 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held today (Wednesday, February 16) at 1 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Cindy Lambert will be the organist, and Carolyn Rustad and Lori Melby will be the song leaders. Casketbearers will be Michelle Henaman, Keith Henaman, Tiffany Alm, Michael Alm, Jodi Patterson, Tom Patterson and Lisa Kloskowski. Burial will be in the Brooks Presbyterian Cemetery in Brooks.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Beatrice Adelaide Bernier was born on June 5, 1916 in Lambert township of Red Lake county, the daughter of Fred and Laura (Gibeau) Bernier. She grew up in Lambert township and attended rural school.

On February 20, 1933 she was united in marriage to Evert Peterson at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. In 1947, the couple purchased a farm near Brooks where they made their home. Beatrice owned beauty shops in Oklee and Erskine. Beatrice and Evert spent 40 winters in Florida where she also worked as a beautician. In 1988, the couple moved to Oklee. Evert died on October 19, 1995, and for the past few years, Beatrice had lived at Valley Home in Thief River Falls. Since January 1, 1999 she had resided at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening and crafts and was a member of the Sew and Save Club in Brooks.

Beatrice is survived by three daughters, Bonita (Tom) Kloskowski of Cloquet, Sharyl Reppenhagen of St. Paul and Lora Jean (Jerry) Thibideau of St. Paul; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma (Jim) Vogl of Milwaukee, WI and Eunice Quesnel of Red Lake Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother Jerome Bernier; and two sisters, Dorothy Bergeron and Opal Beyl. A00003B2000FB16
