Richard Peters, 67

Roseau - Richard Peters, 67, died Monday, August 31, 1998 at the Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4 at 3 p.m. at the Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Badger. The Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Roseau is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard James Peters, the son of Norman and Ellen (Davey) Peterson, was born on June 24, 1931 in LaCrosse, WI. He grew up in Brownsville, MN. He entered the U.S. Army in 1947 and later graduated from high school in Loretto. He lived in the Thief River Falls and Plummer areas for 20 years before moving to Oregon where he resided for 10 years. Two months ago, he moved to the Roseau/Badger area.

Richard is survived by fours sons, Timothy (Stephanie) Peters of Badger, Jeffrey (Deanna) Peters of Roseau, Joseph (Nikki) Peters Thief River Falls and Jason Peters of Plummer; three daughters, Fawn (Ray) Troy and Colleen (Dale) Bergeron, both of Thief River Falls, and Kim (Roy) Holmes of Plummer; his stepfather, Joe Toomey of Brownsville, two brothers, Pat Toomey of LaCrosse, WI and Mike Toomey of Brownsville; and six sisters, Jane Wohlwend of On, AK, Mary Pray of Colorado Springs, CO, Joan Strub of Lansing, IA, Laura Deirson of Caledonia, Terri Virock of Hokah and Renae Spinner of Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
