Edinberg, TX - Royce Pederson, 43, died on Monday, July 28, 1997 at Edinberg Regional Hospital in Edinberg, TX.
Funeral services were held at Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel in Edinberg on Wednesday, July 30.
Funeral services were also held on Saturday, August 2, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Music was provided by Ida Nordvall. Casketbearers were Troy Pederson, Lon Pederson, Ryan Bakke, Shaun Carlson, Jeremy Kees and Brad Pederson. Honorary casketbearers were Lyle Pederson, Kendall Pederson, Jack Hansen, Jerry Hansen, Jerome Hansen and Jody Hansen. Arrangements were with Gonzalez Funeral Home of Edinberg, TX and Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls.
Royce Pederson was born on November 28, 1953 in Thief River Falls, the son of Kenneth and Edna (Blomberg) Pederson. He was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church and attended school in Thief River Falls. He was united in marriage to Joy Hansen in February of 1974. From 1973 to 1982, Royce worked for US West in Detroit Lakes. In l982, the couple moved to Edinberg, TX where Royce worked as a customer service technician for Southwestern Bell Company.
He is survived by his wife, Joy, son Shane and daughter Heather, all of Edinberg; two brothers, Kendall (Carol) Pederson of Red Lake Falls and Lyle Pederson of St. Hilaire; two sisters, Janice Laufman and Sheryl Pederson, both of Thief River Falls; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Keith; and one nephew, Trent Carlson.
