
Roseau - Alder Pederson, 75, died Monday, March 20, 2000 at the Roseau Area Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Friday March 24, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Church in Roseau. Interment was in the Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau. The Helgeson Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
Alder Lawrence Pederson was born on December 6, 1924 in Jadis township of Roseau county, the son of Martin and Lucy (Peterson) Pederson. He grew up on the family farm and went into the U.S. Air Force in 1944. Upon his return from the service, he purchased a farm in Jadis township.
On November 30, 1948, Alder married Adeline Welin in Roseau. He went to work at Polaris Industries in 1955 and was employed there for 26 years. He was employed by Marvin Windows from 1982 until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed old cars, hunting, fishing and woodworking, sharing his creations with his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He also made toys for the Sportsman's Club for needy children in the area. He was very active at the Heritage Community Center in Thief River Falls and delivered hundreds of home meals.
Alder is survived by his wife, Adeline of Roseau; two sons, Allan (Jodi) Pederson of Scandia and Eric of Roseau; three daughters, Jean (Ken) Wojciehowski of Roseau, Joanne (Keith) Olson of Portage, WI and Jodi (Dale) Jaenicke of Roseau; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A00003B2000MR29
