
Fergus Falls - Esther D. Pedersen, 90, died Friday, May 23, 1997 at Red Wing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls with Rev. David Veum officiating. Burial was at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Fergus Falls.
Esther D. Windahl was born June 2, 1906, in Marsh Grove township, Marshall County, the daughter of Ole and Clara Windahl. She attended high school in Newfolden where she sang in musical programs and productions. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College and taught elementary school in Minnesota until her marriage to Adolph Pedersen in 1930.
With her husband, she ministered in Eau Claire, WI and Grand Forks, ND, until they moved to Fergus Falls, where Rev. Pedersen was affiliated with Lutheran Brethren Schools. After her husband retired, the couple moved to Scottsdale, AZ.
Following her husband's death, Esther returned to Fergus Falls and remained there until recently when she moved to Seminary Home in Red Wing, closer to her family.
Esther enjoyed her family, singing in the choir and entertaining.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Audrey) of Waukesha, WI, Howard (Charlotte) of Merced, CA, and David (Flo) of St. Louis Park; three daughters, Ramona (Vince) Settergren of Edina, Audrey (Bob) of New Berlin, WI, and Marilyn (Duane) Hanson of Red Wing; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Haugen of Newfolden; and a brother, William Windahl of Fergus Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Eunice.
