Palmer Paulson, 86

Goodridge - Palmer C. Paulson, 86, died Friday, March 13, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, March 18) at 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Margie Iverson will be the organist, and vocal music will be provided by Kurt Kainz and Jodi Peters. Palmer's grandchildren will be the casketbearers. Burial will be at the Goodridge Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 at the Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Palmer Conrad Paulson was born on April 12, 1911 in rural Gully, the son of Gunder and Oline (Vraa) Paulson. His mother died at an early age, and Palmer lived with his uncle Elmer while attending grade school. He worked on various farms in the Gully area as a young man and also in North Dakota before moving to Goodridge in 1932 where he worked for the Jones and other neighbors farming.

On June 27, 1939 he was united in marriage to Gina Jones in Thief River Falls. The couple lived near Goodridge and farmed before moving into Goodridge in 1968. There, Palmer used his garage as a workshop and was a saw sharpener for many years. Gina died on June 6, 1985. Palmer continued to make his home in Goodridge.

Palmer is survived by a stepson, Allen (Ruth) Jones of Goodridge; four step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; many step- great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Mary Baker of Thief River Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gina; parents; three brothers, Obert, Gilbert and Gerhard; five sisters, Anna Clarno, Olga Hemly; Polly Samuelson, Mathilda Heng and Laura Vissey; four other siblings in infancy; one stepson, Casper Jones; one stepdaughter, Elida Hanson; and four step great-grandsons.
