
Cheyenne, WY - George W. Paulson, 72, died Friday, December 12, 1997 at his home in Cheyenne, WY.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Cheyenne with Dr. Clyde Kauffman officiating. Burial was at Beth El Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Honor Guard. The Schrader Funeral Home of Cheyenne was in charge of the arrangements.
George W. Paulson was born on December 6, 1925 to Roman and Amelia Paulson in Thief River Falls.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hailery, D.D. 556, as a Fireman First Class during World War II. He participated in several major engagements including Guam and Okinawa.
After completing his naval service, he graduated from high school and went on to earn several degrees from the universities of North Dakota, Minnesota and Wyoming. He taught high school social studies in Fertile and Cheyenne, WY.
He was a lifetime member of the Wyoming and national education associations, as well as a member of the Cheyenne Teachers Education Association. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheyenne.
George is survived by two sons, Eric V. Paulson of Cheyenne, WY and Gregory S. Paulson of Casper, WY; three grandchildren; one brother, Allan Paulson of Thief River Falls; and two sisters, Tillie Gebhardt of Crookston and Marion Mostrom of Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roman "Babe" Paulson.
